Day 1 :  Udon Thani  / Ban Chiang National Museum / Salt Mine Village / Sakon Nakhon (320 KM.)

10.15 AM Arrive in udon Thani, meet and greet with our guide then start our first program with  Ban Chiang is considered one of the most significant archaeological sites in Southeast Asia and was registered as a World Heritage Site in 1992. Excavations at a large, oval mound at the site uncovered prehistoric artifacts, especially pottery and bronze implements. Since the discovery of the site in 1966, Ban Chiang is considered the most important prehistoric settlement so far discovered in Southeast Asia. The site shows an important stage in human cultural, social and technological evolution, with some of the earliest evidence of wet-rice agriculture and domestication of cattle, pigs and chickens in the region as well as early examples of the manufacture and use of metals. Many of these artifacts and the stories behind them are on display at

Day 2 :  Sakon Nakhon –  Ancient village at Tha Rare – Wat Phra That Choeng Chum – Baan Na Jok (Uncle Ho’s House) (280 KM.) 

 

After Breakfast drive to  visit Wat Phra That Choeng Chum Worawihan Temple “Phra That Choeng Chum” is a stupa measuring 24 meters high, located in a temple named Wat Phra That Choeng Chum Worawihan. The rectangular structure is decorated with nearly 4 kilograms of golden, sacred umbrellas. It was built to enshrine the widely-venerated footprints of Buddhism’s main figures, PhraKakusantha, Phra Kone Kham, PhraKatsapa, PhraKhodom and Phra Si Ariyametrai. The construction and history of the stupa itself, however, is murky. Nonetheless, the stupa is considered a sacred Sakon Nakhon religious icon. Next to it is a chapel housing the province’s most sacred Buddha image, Luang Pho Ong Saen. Continue to visit Sakon Nakhon indigo product in a modern look, Kram Sakon House is among the places you cannot overlook. The workshop is a wooden building in the local style, is nestled in a peaceful garden. From the outside, it looks like a quiet house, but customers arrive all day and are excited by fashions inspired by Sakon Nakhon indigo. Then to “Ancient village at Tha Rare” the village is back to date around 100 years ago its architecture was built in half French half  Vietnamese style. Before leaving from Sakon Nakhon.

Day 3 :  Nakhon Phanom / Third Thai–Lao Friendship Bridge / Paya Sri Satta Nakarat  / Governor’s Residence Museum / Phra That Phanom / Mukdahan

 

After Breakfast, take a bike and drive to visit  “Third Thai–Lao Friendship Bridge” Third Thai – Lao Friendship Bridge (Nakhon Phanom – Khammouane) was built for connecting between Thailand (Nakhon Phanom Province) and Laos (Khammouane Province) by across from Ban Hom, Samat Sub-district, Mueang district, Nakhon Phanom to Thakhek of Khammouane in Laos. The bridge has 780 meters in length, 10 meters in height and 13 meters in width and has two traffic lanes with no railways. Moreover, this bridge is a route for transportation, trade and tourism that links Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and the south of China together. On the way you will take a photo stop at “Paya Sri Satta Nakarat”, Impressive beautiful Kings of Naga at Khong River.  Then to Nakhon Phanom Provincial Governor’s Residence Museum – The building is undoubtedly the highlight of this attraction. You will see the lovely interior and beautifully restored colonial style mansion. And a short stop for “Saint Anna Nong Saeng Catholic Church” a nice church in the land of Buddha. After bike you can return your bike, take a break with good coffee at Khong River before continue with the car to the nest station. Afternoon drive to   Before leaving from Nakhon Phanom visit Forward  to Baan Na Jok (Uncle Ho’s House) Bann Na Jok or Uncle Ho’s House is an old village where the former president of Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh, used to stay during the war from 1924 to 1931. Inside the house exhibition holding place about Uncle Ho’s biography, history related to Uncle Ho and stories about Uncle Ho while he lived in Thailand. Around the house there are various kind of trees planted by Uncle Ho, such as coconuts, palms, betel, bananas, and teas, which make the house so refreshing. The house is also included Uncle Ho’s tools and utensils for example desk and rice smashing machine which he used. Bann na Jok village was nominated to be the Thai-Vietnamese Cordiality Village. Visit Fried Crickets – One of the special food of Isaan people. Each mother cricket will lay the eggs between 1,000 and 3,000 eggs. On this farm you will see from the eggs, get up to maturity, hit adulthood, until come to the food and for sure you can test if you need! Before leaving from Nakhon Phanom, you will visit Phra That Phanom, the most important Buddhist site in the province, Phra That Phanom features a 53-meters-tall, square-shaped pagoda, which is a Laotian-influenced shape of numerous pagodas found around the area. It is believed that Phra That Phanom was originally built before the 12th Buddhist century, but it entirely collapsed on August 11, 1975 after several days of rainstorm. The current pagoda was later build according to the former design by local donations. Shine underneath the sun atop the pagoda is a 110-kilogram solid gold spire. Day 4 :  Mukdahan / Wat Phu Manorom / Sam Phan Bok /  Pha Taem National Park / Wat Sirindhorn Wararam Phu Prao / Khongjiam (250 KM.)

 

Before leaving from Mukdahan on this morning, one of a must visit in Mukdahan Wat Phu Manorom“,  you will see the big white Buddha on the mountaintop with the nice view of Mukdahan. Out of the Buddha you will see a long dragon are rather fascinating. The tail on the dragon is a work of constructive creativity. Depart from Mukdahan to Sam Phan Bok “The Grand Canyon of Thailand”, The Northeastern province of Ubon Ratchathani hosts a peculiar natural wonder marketed as “The Grand Canyon of Thailand”. Sam Phan Bok translates as 3,000 holes. While you may never be able to accurately count them all, the alien-like holes that blanket the rock foundation make this place so fascinating and photogenic. From microscopic burrows to gaping cavernous indentations, these naturally eroded holes are scattered along the river bed, just waiting to be investigated. Continue to Pha Taem National Park, Covering the area of 140 square kilometers, this National Park features the plateaus, hills, deciduous dipterocarp forest, sheer cliffs resulted from the earthquakes, irregular shaped of sandstone which scattered around and the beautiful wild flowers growing among the rocky ground.  Highlight of the Park are Pha Taem and Pha Kam which located near the National park headquarters. Surface of the cliffs are filled with numerous prehistoric cave paintings dated back 3,000-4,000 years ago that explores the traditional way of life of people who once lived here during the prehistoric days. Scenes in paintings include fishing, rice farming, human figures, animals, hands and geometric designs. As a result, Pha Team becomes one of the world’s oldest agrarian communities and given Ubon Ratchathani be cradle of Northeastern civilization. Also, the site recently discovered more archaeological evidences suggested that human settled in this area between 14,000-6,000 years ago. Before drive to check-in at the hotel, visit “Wat Sirindhorn Wararam Phu Prao” a beautiful temple with amazing fluorescent tree. Fluorescent tree is the acquired image is green glow of the Kanlapaphruek painting on the back wall of the temple in the evening especially during 06.00 pm. – 07:30 pm. is the perfect to see and take a photo. Day 5 :  Khongjiam / Gongs Village / Sri Saked /  Prasat Wat Sa Kamphaeng Yai / Khun Ampai Panich Building /  Elephant Village /  Surin (280 KM)

 

Third day program after Breakfast first visit at “Gongs Village”, Gongs is a part Thai musical instruments. The people in the village lives are dedicated to the creation of Gongs. An item that is often presented in the Buddhist temples in Thailand. There are over 50 families making  the Gongs, the worker of these families have resulted to supply the Gong for the whole nation. Then you will drive to Sri Saked Province for first visit at Prasat Wat Sa Kamphaeng Yai is the largest and best-preserved Khmer temple complex in Si Sa Ket. It’s main structure features three stupas on the same base made of brick and sandstone. It is thought that the structure was erected around the 10th Century during the reign of King Suryavarman, one of the great Khmer rulers. It was originally a shrine dedicated to Shiva, it was then later converted to a Mahayana Buddhist temple in the 13th Century. Khun Ampai Panich Building – The beautiful building belongs to Sisaket nobleman Khun Ampai Panich (in Naga-siharat). It is well-renovated and preserved, and won gold medal for conserving urban architecture in 1987. After visit drive to Surin for visit Elephant Village, Many of the locals here at Ban Ta Klang Elephant Village are of the Suay ethnic minority. They are skilled in capturing, training and raising Asian elephants, a national Thai symbol. Unlike in northern Thailand where elephants are kept for labor, locals consider elephants their companions, and often share their homes. We will drive to the village can observe the way of life of the Suay people, or speak with veteran elephant specialists. Often, the sluggish local economy drives elephants and their mahouts to work outside the village. Rice paddies and forests, good elephant habitats, surround the village. Then drive to hotel for overnight.

Day 6 :  Surin / Ban Tha Sawang Silk Weaving Village / Buriram / Muang Tam Sanctuary /  Phanom Rung Historical Park / Lalu Thailand’s Canyon / Srakaew (270 KM.)

 

Before living from Surin we will visit Ban Tha Sawang Silk Weaving Village , this village is widely recognized for utilizing looms with over a hundred heddles to weave gold brocade silk of the highest quality, offered to Her Majesty the Queen as well as previous royal courts. Since its founding, the village has also been tasked with weaving fabric for 21 APEC (Asia Pacific Economic CoOperation) country leaders in 2003. The dazzling quality of the Chansoma golden brocade is a result of selecting fine and delicate silk threads from the innermost part of the silk cocoon, which are then bleached, boiled, and colored with natural dyes. More than one hundred heddles and supplementary weft threads are used to create patterns. In the weaving process, 4-5 people are needed: 2-3 people to raise the heddles, one to insert the wooden marker, and one to weave. Because of the complicated weaving techniques, only 6-7 centimeters of fabric can be woven each day on each loom. Drive to Buriram for  visit Muang Tam Sanctuary of Prasat Muang Tum is located in Prakhonchai District. It is only 8 kilometers from famous Phanom Rung Historical Park. Mueang Tam Sanctuary is a large community religious site in Hinduism presumably built for worshipping Shiva. From archaeological excavations, clear evidence revealed that human settlements had been established in this area. It is significantly situated on the main communication route that runs from Mueang Phra Nakhon, the center of the ancient Khmer Kingdom (Siem Reap). It is assumed that the ancient community at Muang Tam Sanctuary had a vital relationship with other communities on Khmer Civilization Route  to the northeast of Thailand. Afternoon take a drive for visit “Lalu”, a natural phenomenon in Ta Phraya National Park. The word Lalu is derived from Khmer language influence is found all over the place. “Lalu” here refer to a subsided land which is a result of a natural phenomenon caused by the erosion of rainwater and the subsidence or collapse of soil. After visit drive to hotel for check in.

Day 7 :   Srakaew – Rongklua Market –  Wat Tham Khao Chakan Kasorn Kasivit, Buffalo Training School – Bangkok (330 KM)

 

Before leave from Sra kaew you will visit Rongklua Market at Aranyaprathet, The Rong Kluea Market famous for its loads of cheap bulk goods and clothes, but more so for the endless amounts of secondhand items brought in through Cambodia from countries like America, Mexico, Korea, and Japan. The merchants here make livings out of cleaning, restoring, and reselling shoes, jackets, and other articles of clothing. Most of these items were once donated to the people of Cambodia who later brought them to the border to sell and trade.

for visit “Wat Tham Khao Chakan”, s a classic Buddhist monastery located in Khao Chakan Sub-district at the foot of the Chakan limestone mountain. From the temple premises there are stairs to reach a viewpoint on Khao Chakan. As the temple is situated within the Khao Chakan Arboretum, there are plenty of monkeys on the premises of the temple. Then forward to “Kasorn Kasivit, Buffalo Training School”, the First of Its Kind in Thailand. End of visit drive to Bangkok Airport for a flight to the next station
